Melinda Sue Perez, 57, joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 27th 2013 at her home in Yuma, Arizona. Born February 5th 1956, in Sedalia, Mo., she was the fifth of thirteen children to the late Daniel Hern and Betty Hern.
Melinda was educated in Missouri where she attended nursing school and became an LPN. After moving to Yuma, she met and married Eddie Perez in May of 1989. In 2003, Melinda opened Angels PRN, a home health agency that served the Yuma community for over ten years. She was very active with the Yuma North End Rotary Club and served as President from 2008-2009.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Eddie, her children, Barbara (Robert) Freeman, Hope Wright, David (Jenessa) Perez, Elizabeth (Matthew) McQueen, Eric Simmons and Destiny Simmons. As well as thirteen grandchildren, Savannah, Cierra, Cody, Kyle, Danielle, Kayla, Brandon, Quin, Austin, Madison, Shelby, Clinton, Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Cherokee and Zoe Jane.
A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson Mortuary located at 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 with Mary Garcia officiating.
