Nancy Jean Bazabal

Nancy Jean Bazabal of Yuma, Arizona passed away in her sleep on July 9th 2019. She was born on April 17, 1946 in Paxton Illinois to Edith and Raymond Artist. She moved to Arizona with her parents when she was 4 years old and graduated from San Pasqual High School. Nancy married Martin Bazabal on September 8th 1967. They made their home in Bard where they raised their two children Keith and Tiffany. Nancy was a surgical nurse before having children once the kids we born she stayed home to raise them and was a great mother. She also helped with the family sheep business often caring for sheep during the day while Martin worked. Sewing and embroidery were her passions, she was a master seamstress and she loved traveling to quilting and sewing shows with her friends, she also taught sewing classes in Yuma.

She is survived by her husband Martin, son Keith Bazabal and his wife Becky Bazabal, daughter Tiffany and her husband Chris McGowen. She has two grandchildren Ethan and Sabrina McGowen. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will take place at Johnson Mortuary in Yuma Arizona on July 20th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Yuma or the Alzheimer’s association or the charity of your choice.
