
Nick Thomas Jr., 42, began his journey home Thursday, April 7, 2011 at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. He was born October 12, 1968 in Yuma, AZ to Nick and Laura Thomas.
Nick worked as a laborer for the Cocopah Indian Tribe. He graduated from Sherman Indian High School in Riverside ,CA in 1986. He enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball and was a big NASCAR Racing fan.
Nick is survived by his father, Nick Thomas Sr.; brother, Ned (Lupe) Thomas; sisters, Mercedes Thomas, Serena (Marvin) Sharkey, Kathy (Jesus) Serrano; long time companion, Veronica Thomas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Thomas; sister, Baby Girl Thomas; grandmother, Kathleen Hock.
Service will take place at 4:00pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at Assembly of God Church. Tribal ceremony will be at 5:00pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at East Cocopah Cry House with cremation at 5:00am Saturday, April 16, 2011. Reverend J. Rodriguez III will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rose, Pete Rose IV, Richard Alvañez Jr., Israel Alvañez, Anthony Miller, Vincent Hayes, Daniel Padilla, Mitchell Davis, Keith Valenueva Jr. and Daniel Valenueva.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nick Thomas Sr., Ned Thomas, Loren Thomas, Marvin Sharkey Jr., Claude Sink, Jesus Serrano, Joe Rodriguez III, Remegius San Diego, Harold Coyote, Eduardo Diaz and Epifiano Chan Diaz.

Nick Thomas Jr., 42, of Somerton, died April 7, 2011, in Tucson.
He was born Oct. 12, 1968, in Yuma and was a construction laborer.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Cocopah Assembly of God Church. East Cocopah Indian Reservation Tribal Ceremonial Rites will follow at East Cocopah Indian Reservation Cry House. Cremation will be 5 a.m. Saturday at East Cocopah Indian Reservation Cemetery.
