Ramon V. Payan, 95, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012. He was born on August 31, 1916, in Bacum, Sonora, Mexico.
Ramon worked for Barkley Company for forty-eight years. He was a member of Lions Club of Gadsden. He loved to farm his land, raise livestock, fishing, and telling his life stories.
Ramon is survived by his daughter, Simona (Ruben) Salazar; sons, Andy (Mary) Payan, Alex (Beatrice) Payan, Adrian "Buck" Payan, and Cipriano "Chris" Payan; daughter-in-law, Armida Payan, as well as 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joaquina "Jackie" Payan; son, Arturo Payan; sister, Maria T. Muñoz; brother, Isaac Payan; mother, Simona Garcia; father, Cruz Payan.
A visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at Johnson Mortuary Chapel Friday, August 3, 2012, at 9:00 A.M. His final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
