Ray is survived by his children Tony, Robert (Myra), John, Ralph (Elvira), and Mary; grandchildren Ali, Brett, Brittany, Gabriella, Esai, and little David Tate who he thought of as one of his own; as well as great-grandchildren Delia, Ayden, Rylee and Moses. Ray also leaves behind brothers Frank Jr. (Mary), Richard (Bea), Daniel, Louie Gonzales and sisters Paulina Garcia, Lupe Hernandez (Frank), Bernadette Bedoya (Thomas), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice, daughter Delia, fathers Pablo Lopez and Frank Moran, Sr., mothers Guadalupe Lopez and Marina Moran, brothers Raul, Severo, and Aurelio Lopez, sisters Teresa Federico, Esther Foust, Mary Majalca, Marina Gonzales, Teresita Moran, and many more friends and loved ones.
Ray was one of a kind. He worked hard his whole life from his humble beginnings as a boy in Tucson, Arizona shining shoes and selling newspapers. He proudly served in the Arizona National Guard with the 158th Infantry (Cuidado) from 1953-1959. Ray was a sheet metal worker and a master at the art of layout, a skill that today is done by computers and machines.
Ray was a good man, and he never knew a stranger. A devoted member of the Love of Grace Church, his faith was a source of comfort and strength to him. He loved God, his wife, kids, and his entire family.
He truly adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so proud of the legacy he was leaving behind. Rest in peace. We will see you again.
Ray will be laid to rest with his loving wife at a graveside service on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Desert Lawn.
