Rollie Eddie Edward Thornburg

Rollie Edward "Eddie" Thornburg, 76, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale, AZ. He was born July 12, 1937, in Winchester, IN., son of McDowell and Reba (Reece) Thornburg.

He moved with his family to Yuma, AZ. in 1945. He attended Yuma schools and graduated from Yuma High School in 1958. He retired from Yuma School District #1, Maintenance Department, and was a long time member of the First Southern Baptist Church. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, playing tennis, and watching UofA basketball.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn; Sisters Bessie Carl and Norma Lairmore; Brother Donald; Granddaughter Suzanne; Great grandson Keagan.

Survivors include his daughters Stephanie (Tony) Hughes and Leslie (Michael); His sons Michael (Maggie) and Ryan; Sister Mary Williams; Brother Clifford; Ex-wife and close friend Mary Christopher; Grandchildren Steven, Joshua, Susan, Kevin, Aaron, Wyatt, Cody and Alivia; Great grandsons Dennis and Kellen.

Pallbearers are Steven, Aaron & Doug Thornburg, Wyatt Diecks, Chris Bone & Ernie Mesa. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Griffith, Kevin Bever, Cody Diecks, Jeff Bone and Clifford Thornburg Jr.

Burial arrangements under the direction of Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
