

Shirley Ann Tucker, 79 of Yuma and formerly of Santa Rosa, CA died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home. She was born May 14, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Ann Freeman. After attending junior college, Shirley worked as a stenographer for the FBI in Oakland, CA where she met her beloved husband and U.S. Army Serviceman the late Rozell "Joe" Tucker. Shirley and Joe settled in Yuma where Shirley worked as an Administrative Officer for the Directorate of Law Enforcement and Security at Yuma Proving Ground.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Carol) Tucker of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Elaine (Wayne) Lucas of Yuma; grandchildren, Ryan (Sheryl) Yarwood, Michael, Colleen, and Mary McGillicuddy of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Jordan Poole, and Rylan Yarwood. She is also survived by her sister, Norma (Walter) Vielbaum of San Francisco, CA; brother, Gary (Elinore) Freeman of Concord, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was devoted to helping her family and helping others. She is loved and deeply missed.
A viewing will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Johnson Mortuary Desert Lawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the chapel. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn.
