

Wes (83) resident of Yuma since 1969, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side September 13th, 2012. He was born July 22nd, 1929, at the Stork's Nest in Tucson, Arizona, to Cyril Thomas Measday and Ruth Mae Shibley Measday.
Wes attended college for two years before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served in the Navy for three years during the Korean War. In 1955 Wes married Margaret Rachal of Ft. Stockton, Texas. In 1957, while working for Standard Oil of New Jersey in El Paso, Wes attained a degree in Agri-Business from Texas Western (now University of Texas at El Paso). Wes continued working for Standard Oil after graduation. From 1959 to 1965 Wes managed a sheep ranch in Fort Stockton, Texas. In 1965 he and his family moved to Arizona where he served as an agricultural/commercial loan officer for First National/First Interstate Bank of Arizona and Valley National Bank of Arizona for the next 30 years.
Wesley served the community of Yuma for many years as an active member of the Yuma County Junior Livestock Committee and the Yuma Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Free Masons and Shriners International.
Wesley is survived by his wife Margaret and daughters Donna Measday, Paula Sims and son in law Rick, and Kayla Measday Yancey. He also leaves seven grandchildren; KC Posispil, Megan Pearson, Rebecca Anderson, Scott and Ryan Sims, and Colin and Cameron Yancey. A great grandson is expected any day. He is also survived by two sisters, Donnie Ross and Barbara Lucky, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his loving care giver, Maria Lara.
A memorial service will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma or Yuma Nursing Center.
