William Columbus Steiert

Bill served in the U.S. Navy as a radio man gunner, and retired as the Fire Chief for City of Yuma. He later was a city councilman.

Pallbearers will be Terry Newcomb, Chris Vidal, Gilbert Ramirez, Richard Lineberry, Richie Lineberry, and Edward Quesada. Honorary pallbearers will be the City of Yuma Fire Department.

A wake will be at Johnsons Mortuary Chapel Friday, January 28, 2011 between 5:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. with rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. His final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

William C. Steiert (1926-2011)

A wake for William C. Steiert, 84, of Yuma, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Steiert died Jan. 24, 2011, at his home. He was born March 20, 1926, in Yuma, was the city of Yuma fire chief and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
