Joyce was born in 1936 to Elbridge and Freda Clark, of Millis, MA.
Joyce was a graduate of Millis Consolidated School, class of 1954; and Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1957.
Joyce and Roger started their life together in Millis, MA. In 1957. Joyce lived in Bellingham, MA, Hyannis, MA, and Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
Joyce worked in many hospitals over her fifty-year nursing career; including Leonard Morse, Glover Memorial, Milford Hospital, and Cape Cod Hospital. She transitioned to the home health care field of nursing after returning from Arabia in 1984. Joyce changed her career to school bus monitoring in 2003; working for the Cape Cod Collaborative, and the Barnstable Public School system. Joyce retired in 2012, but began volunteering at one of her favorite places, the Hyannis Public Library.
Joyce loved her family, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, collecting turtles, and was a true artist in a wide variety of needle crafts.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, husband Roger T. Parmenter, Jr., and nephew Stephen Clark.
She leaves her brother and sister-in-law William and Margaret Clark of Millis, MA.; her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Richard Isaak, of Londonderry, NH; their children Kurt Isaak, of Londonderry, NH; Elise Issak and her fiancé Shane David, of Kansas City, KS; and her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Daniel Luebke, of West Yarmouth, MA.; niece Susan Gerow and family of Winthrop, MA; and nephew Donald Clark and family of Millis, MA.
Her family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and staff of Cape Cod Hospital; the offices of Elisa Thompson, Shannon List; and Cynthia Rodrigues.
Per Joyce’s wishes all arrangements are private; and in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity close to the donor’s heart.
