Richard Emil Schlenker passed away on January 30, 2021 at the age of 53 of a heart attack. He is the son of Albert and Irmgard Schlenker. Richard was born and raised in Sacramento, CA and graduated Rio Americano High School and American River College. He was a certified auto-transfusionist for many years and took great pride that his work helped save lives in operating rooms. He loved to camp at the ocean and mountains, and could always find the humor in any situation. Richard had a keen eye for quality goods and enjoyed thrift shopping. His eyes would light up when he found a discarded “gem”. He loved to restore furniture and bring it back to life and was also a good handyman and could fix just about anything. Richard enjoyed cooking (especially traditional German foods) and hosted many holiday dinners for family and friends. He was proud of his cultural heritage and visited Germany (and much of Europe) many times during his youth. Richard was married to Quinn Johnston and had two step children, Jacqueline and Mathew. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Edgar, and is survived by his father, sister Siegrid (Ziggy) Robeson, nieces Margaret Schlenker & Kinsey Robeson, and nephew William Robeson. Richard was laid to rest on April 2nd at the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery.
He will be forever loved and missed.
