Mary was a member of the Lord’s church at Northport church of Christ where she attended faithfully as long as her health permitted. Mary loved seeing the members and friends there, however, her favorite activity was when she taught “her babies” who attended the cradle row class. She enjoyed watching them grow up and have babies of their own.
Mary worked a few years at Bell South Telephone Company as a switch board operator but she loved being a homemaker for her family, a mother to her children and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother the best. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing for her family, reading and had an avid interest and talent for researching family genealogy and recording their history. She penned many articles which have been included in several county history books. Mary was a faithful and passionate “Roll Tide”, Alabama Football Fan. Her yearly calendar went from opening season to the next opening season and she watched every re-run game she could in between.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the Evangelism/Preacher Training Program at Northport church of Christ, P.O Box 333, Northport, AL 35476.
