Jim graduated from North Kitsap High School, in 1980. He was married to his high school sweetheart Marilyn “Mimi” Keifert on July 11, 1981, in Poulsbo, WA. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, starting in July 1982 in Shop 38, where he became known for his loyalty, leadership skills, knowledge, and dedication to his work. He also influenced many generations of shipyard employees that had the pleasure to be around him.
In his spare time Jim loved to camp and fish but most of all, he loved to tinker. He could fix just about anything he put his hands on, from building engines to developing a new tool. There was nothing he couldn’t make work again.
He is survived by his Wife, Marilyn “Mimi”, Son Timothy “Tim” and Fiancé Kerstyn, Daughter Katherine “Katie” Andrews and husband Kyle, Granddaughter Bailey Andrews, Mother Pricilla and husband Leo, Step-Mother Patricia, Brother Jeffrey, Step-Brother Steve and Wife Brenda, Step-Sister Lynda, and Step-Sister Catrina, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Dale.
A celebration of life for Jim is being planned for the near future. Until then the family would love for you to share stories and memories below.
