She attended Nazareth Academy for 11 years and graduated from Patti Welder H.S. 1944, then earned an associate’s degree from Victoria Community College. Member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Houston for 42 years, she was chairperson of the Flower Guild, 24 years, Social Life Committee member and co-chairperson, Altar Guild member, Liturgical Arts member, craft presenter for Emmanuel in the Woods annual church retreats. She was an accomplished pianist, played golf and was a trophy winning bowler, avid bridge player and instructor, needlepoint and Brazilian embroidery enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by Leo Epperhart (husband) ’84, Diana Gayle (daughter) ’54, Fred Huvar Sr. ’72 and Stella Holcak Huvar ’85 (parents), Edward 2017, Valerian “Val” ‘13, Fred Jr. Huvar ‘12 (brothers). She is survived by Beverly Richardson, (daughter), Philip Richardson (son-in-law), Micah Richardson (grandson), numerous nephews and nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Sunday April 11, 2021 from 5-7 pm at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston, TX. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Catholic Cemetery #2, 200 Block of West Trinity Street, in Victoria, TX. A memorial service for Margaret will take place in the summer.
