Lucille Burg Hubbell, a longtime resident of Brentwood, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2021, at the age of 74. Lucy was born on April 1, 1946, in the Crescent Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. She graduated in 1964 from Hollywood’s Fairfax High School.
Lucy loved music and dancing. Shortly after graduating she became a dancer on the Sunset Strip at world famous night clubs like Gazzarri’s and the Whiskey A Go Go. Lucy was once featured on a massive Sunset Boulevard billboard promoting Gazzarri’s that was seen by thousands of passersby.
Lucy loved animals as well and worked as a veterinarian assistant at Doctor’s Pet Hospital, where she met and fell in love with her husband, Richard C. Hubbell. They bonded over their love of animals, fine dining, and travel. Together they enjoyed golfing at the Bel Air Country Club and socializing at the Bel Air Bay Club.
Lucy will also be remembered for her energy, style, and love of flowers. She delighted in picking flowers to create informal bouquets and arrangements for her home.
Lucy is survived by her husband Richard; her daughter Chrissy Braibanti and her husband Mark of Los Angeles; her twin brother Dennis Burg and older brother Michael Burg; and her two grandchildren, Ella and Lucy. Visitation will be held on what would have been her 75th birthday: Thursday, April 1, from 12:30-3pm, at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary, 1218 Glendon Ave, Los Angeles, CA.
