Born in 1932 in Paisley, Scotland, Myra was a fun-loving and studious child. She loved school and math - a skill which would later serve her very well as one of the few woman inspectors at Rolls Royce Canada.
In 1954, Myra married the love of her life, Francis (Frank) Joseph Moran. Shortly thereafter, the pair began their parenting journey – a journey which brought them both a tremendous amount of pride and joy for the rest of their lives.
In 1966, Myra, Frank and their two daughters left the country they knew and loved to begin a new journey in Montreal, Quebec. Once settled in Montreal, they welcomed their third daughter.
Despite living in Montreal since the late 1960’s, Myra never lost her thick Scottish brogue. In fact, it somehow grew stronger in the last decade. She never lost who she was, and embraced a whole new journey, an ocean away from all her loved ones back home in Scotland.
Myra was so much, to so many. She was the adoring Mother to Isabel (Peter Connolly), Anne Marie (Douglas Taylor), and Paula (Claudio Cusin). The beloved Gramma to Alexandra (Colin Campbell), Bryan (Leanne Fiddler), Brett, Alana, and Marco, and treasured “GG” to Colton, Isla, and Baby Campbell. Myra leaves behind her dearly loved brother William Moran who she held a very special place for in her heart and maintained a lifelong strong relationship with, despite the thousands of kilometres that separated them. She will be deeply missed by her lifelong friends Betty and John Cassidy, Bob and Barbara Larkin and countless other cherished friends.
Myra found much solace in her relationship with God and the church, and she was a proud long-time parishioner of St Mary’s.
While her departure leaves an irreparable hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, we know that she was greeted by her many loved ones she lost along the way. Myra joins her beloved husband, Frank, her infant son, Paul, her dearly loved deceased siblings and loving parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be ever grateful for donations made in her memory to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, where Myra spent her final days surrounded by light and comfort – the absolute most the family could ever ask for. Due to COVID restrictions there will be a private visitation and mass held by the family.
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
