Evan attended Northeast Elementary in Pride, LA., where he lived for most of his childhood years. He also attended Istrouma Middle Magnet for one year in Baton Rouge, LA., and Central Middle and Central High, in Central, LA., where he graduated in 2003. Evan continued his education at Southeastern Louisiana University, in Hammond, LA., for several years. Evan was very studious and earned excellent grades throughout his educational years.
Evan was very athletic and participated in an array of sports, such as football and track while at Central Middle. Track was his specialty, where he won several trophies and medals of which he competed in local and out of state competitions.
He was also active in the BREC softball and soccer leagues. He also played basketball for Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Pride, LA.
Evan was very active in all church activities throughout his childhood and teenager years, especially with the youth program at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, in Pride, LA. To his final day on this Earth, Evan believed wholeheartedly, mind, body and soul, in our Heavenly Father and in Jesus Christ our Savior.
Evan had a good sense of humor, loving, kind-hearted, and always willing to give a helping hand. He worked with Tyler, his younger brothers’ pool business, Blue Storm Pools, along with his older brother Rhett, for several years. He worked several other jobs as well, such as a tire repair shop and a plumbing construction business.
Evan especially loved spending what little time he had with his son, Dylan, and his daughter, Tristen, whom he loved both with all of his heart. He visited them when it was possible in Houston, Texas. He missed being with them on a regular basis, which was an extreme burden that he had to battle with everyday.
Evan also enjoyed reading, writing, drawing, roller skating, swimming, going on trips with his family, family gatherings for special occasions and holidays.
Evan is survived by his two beautiful children, Dylan and Tristen Kelley; mother, Holly Frey; father, Dallas Kelley; brothers, Drew and Quinn; a sister, Heidi. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Rhett and Tyler; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Anna Frey; paternal grandparents, Donald Kelley and Patricia Aucoin.
A celebration of his life will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 22834 Liberty Rd., Zachary, LA. 70791, on May 22, 2021, at 3:00 pm. The services will be officiated by Pastor Tim Norris and guest Pastor Jeff Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Evan to your favorite charity.
From our family to you and yours, we want to extend our warmest and deepest gratitude for all your thoughtfulness, prayers and support. I want to also take this opportunity to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart that has helped me in planning this celebration for Evan. I could not have done it without YOU :)
I know that Evan has finally found peace in Heaven with the Lord, and is now free from all the burdens that weighed heavily upon his shoulders.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2
