It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ernie Toledo on May 7, 2021. Words cannot describe our loss. Ernie was born and was a lifelong resident of Modesto where he leaves behind his mother Lydia Toledo, sister Monica Bergman (John), nieces Laura Maestas, Natalie and Carrie Bergman, nephews Jacob Kubik and Luke Valdez and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Ruben Toledo and his sister Lisa Toledo.
Ernie was a painter by trade where he worked hard and took great pride in his finished projects. He knew how to fix almost anything that needed repair or knew someone to call on to repair the damage. He was smart, organized and a good problem solver which were great assets to have in his profession.
He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. His family and friends are left with many stories and witty remarks Ernie made through the years that will bring smiles to our faces in his memory. Ernie liked to cook and share his cooking with others. He always delivered his food all neatly packaged and everything was always so good. Some of his specialties included homemade fried chicken, albondigas soup and enchiladas. He was generous is all areas of his life, and was a caring, sensitive and loyal son, brother and friend. He was an organ donor and was able to donate to others so that they might have a second chance at a better life.
A gathering of friends and family to honor and celebrate Ernie will be held on May 24, 2021, at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson CA in the Private Estate Garden at 10:00 a.m.
