Roger Dean Brown, born December 19, 1959, peacefully departed this world and experienced earlier-than-planned reunions with some of his most beloved family members on May 8, 2021 at the age of 61 in Leander, Texas. A deep lover of rock n’ roll, the Texas hill country and the lakes of west Austin, Roger was an incredible father and deeply loved by his four daughters and two grand-daughters. He lived his life as one of the coolest dudes we all knew, yet a very deep feeler, and was never one to hold back both tears and opinions.
As a child, Roger was born the fifth of seven children in an active military family, the youngest boy, later having a short military assignment in his early adulthood. Roger spent most of his adult life in the Austin-area where he raised his children and was supported by the local community as a trusted businessman, known widely as Roger Brown A/C. Suffering one of the greatest tragedies a parent could know in 1999, Roger lost his first-born child and his best bud, “Little Roger” (also “Bubba”) at the age of 19. Remaining one of the most devoted fathers we all knew, his four daughters and two granddaughters became his happy place. He sure did love all of his girls - and often called them all his “pride and joy.”
Roger is preceded in death by Roger Hendrick Brown, Jr. (son), Presley Blue Reser (granddaughter), James Leslie Brown, Jr. and Georgia Lee Clark Brown (parents), and James Ricky Brown (brother).
Surviving him are Roger’s children Chelsea Brown Reser and husband Kyle Reser, Carly Ann Brown and fiancé Ben Sibley, Emily Dawn Brown, and Elizabeth Grace Brown; Grand-children Raelynn Jane Reser, Hadley Brynn Reser, and another baby girl on the way; Siblings Ronnie Lee Brown, Connie Brown Leman and husband Kevin of San Antonio, Robert Alan Brown and his wife Terry of Friendswood, Christy Brown Smith and husband David of Texas City, and Cheryl Leslie Brown and husband Chuck Bailey of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering for friends and family will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
