Nicholas “Nick” Matthew Neri 80, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on May 16, 2021 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on March 3, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Nicholas and Andonina Neri (LaTorre). Nick served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict state side as an aircraft mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge he then went to work for Northrop Grumman in Bethpage, NY. Nick also worked as a Flight Line Mechanic with Trans World Airlines and then spent another 16 years as a Corrections Officer at Riker’s Island. In 1995 he and his wife moved to the Palm Coast area. His memberships at one time included the Fraternal Order of Police and the Elks Club. Nick enjoyed all types of shooting sports, fishing and crabbing but his greatest love in life was spending time with his family especially his beloved grandson Joey. He was preceded in death by his infant brother Nicholas Neri; sister, Angelina Neri; brother-in-law John DeSena; Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Christina; children, Tina Marie and her husband Santo Badame; son, Vincent Neri; grandson, Joseph Nicholas Badame; brother, Joseph and his wife Marie Neri; sister-in-law, Carolyn DeSena and many more loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
