His maternal grandparents, Otis and Doris Ragan, his parents, Mike and Vicky Carey, his brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Tamara Carey, as well as one nephew, Atticus Carey, also survive Michael. Michael’s memory lives on with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His paternal grandparents Joe and Dortha Carey as well as his maternal uncle, Ricky Ragan, precede Michael in death.
Michael was many things to many people; a father, a partner, a son, a brother and a friend to name a few. Michael was wholly dedicated to his daughter and family; they truly brought him his greatest joy. He was also a deeply loyal and trustworthy friend. Michael is known to be a man with a truly genuine nature about him and a deep sense of compassion for others. He was always willing to help anyone in their time of need. His playful spirit and gentle disposition live on in his daughter and in the hearts of all of his friends and loved ones.
Michael was a lifetime Oklahoma City resident with a passion for soccer and the outdoors. He enjoyed writing and excelled at expressing himself creatively. Michael brought light with him into any situation. He loved to make people laugh and to laugh with them. He was never one to be too caught up in the difficult times; he maintained a constant sense of hope. One of the things loved most about Michael was his kind heart.
When describing Michael as a father, the words devoted and adoring come to mind. Emily brought the same light to Michael that he brought to so many. The same mischievous, ornery glimmer in Michael’s eye was passed on to Emily. The playful spark that lived in him shines through her.
