Bruce Stokes, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 29, 2021. A Celebration of His Life will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Carter officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, May 31, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bruce was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Charles A. and Laura Bloodworth Stokes. He was retired from Armstrong World Industries after thirty years of service. He was a member of the United Steel Worker Local #461 in Macon. Bruce was the owner of B & S Stokes farm working with his son Chad. He was a multi generation farmer and was a member of the Georgia Cattleman Association and the National Cattleman Association. Bruce enjoyed raising cattle, going to Biloxi and especially Friday night Buggy Town Auction with his buddy Rob. Bruce attended Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and his grandchildren was the love of his life.
Bruce is survived by the love of his life his wife, Sheila Stokes of Lizella, two children, Chad (Brittany) Stokes, Britni (David) Mimbs; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Cary (Linda) Stokes, Al (Nancy) Stokes; sister, Marisa Mitchell; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Christine) Etheridge and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of great friends.
