Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island he was the son of the late Francis J. Conlon and Alice (McLoughlin) Conlon.
Leo served in the US Army from 1948 to 1951 and is a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Boston University in 1960 and worked in the aerospace industry for most of his career. He was very proud of his work on NASA's Apollo and Viking Mars Lander programs.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Kathleen Geanacou and her husband James of Norfolk,
MA; Patricia Durant and her husband Dean of Sandwich, Mary McNeil and her children of Medway, MA; 2 sons, Paul Conlon and his wife Karen of Randolph, MA and James Conlon and his wife Mitzi of Walpole, MA; 10 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Susan Conlon of West Yarmouth, MA., and nephew Stephen
and his wife Chrissy of Hutton, Texas. He was also the brother of the late Francis Conlon.
In remembrance of Leo's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Calling hours will be 11:00am-1:00 pm on Tuesday June 15 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne, MA. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
