Marjorie was the third child born to Donald and Frances Buech May 24, 1932 in Traverse City, MI. She is survived by her two younger sisters who say there was never a dull moment growing up with her quick wit and sassy charm.
A longtime resident of Byron Center, MI, her community knew her as Marge, or Mrs. Bessey. To her eight lucky children (five girls, three boys), she was Mom. Her 25 grandkids were fortunate to know her as Grandma Bessey, Grandma Jazz (during the time she owned that crazy yorkie) or simply Gram. In 1999, she was promoted to Grandma Great, and that’s really what suited her best. To know her was to know greatness. Her virtuous character and devotion to her faith (as a longtime member of Woodhaven Christian Reformed Church) were truly admirable.
Her humble nature and generous spirit yielded her many lifelong friends. They enjoyed taking trips together, going out to eat, and playing cards.
Above all, Marjorie loved her large, loud, and crazy family with all her heart. She cherished their many get togethers throughout the years. Housekeeping never took precedence over having her grandkids over to swim in her pool, reading the next great book on her list, or the chance to go out and have a good time. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
