Mrs. Brenda Joyce Sewell Elrod, 79, of Senoia, GA passed away on Monday, October4, 2021. She was born to the late Nell Napier Sewell and George Robert “Buck” Sewell Sr. in Columbus, GA on August 24, 1942. She was then raised by the late Mary Bruce Sewell and Buck Sewell in Ladonia, AL.
Brenda graduated from Dixie High School in Crawford, AL. She loved to cook, bake, and to garden but, most of all she loved to read her Bible. She had lots of good friends that she loved to talk to on the phone. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. There was nothing more that she enjoyed than spending time with her grandchildren and great-children. She loved her brown faced beagle, Freckles and their four little cats. She never met an enemy and will be missed by all that knew her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George Robert Sewell, Jr and Bruce Albert Sewell; and nephew, Jeremy Robert Sewell.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Michael Lee Elrod; her loving daughters, Tamyra Lynn Haggard (Charles Wynn), Vicky Anne Drew, and Angela Leigh Elrod; grandchildren, Allen Herman Betsill II (Amber), James Wesley Bynum Betsill (Rinzi), Joshua Thaddeus Davis (Amanda), Alexis Victoria Drew, and Julie Anne Bynum; great-grandchildren, Brennan Oke Betsill, Evelynn Grace Stuart, Adian Jayce Davis, John Clark Davis, Lynnliegh Nicole Davis, Odessa Victoria Snell, and Ceante Blake Sutton; brother Tommy Madison Sewell; nieces, Amber Camp and Shamri Alexandria Sewell; and great-nephew, Nolan Kai Camp.
A Visitation will be held in the Rose Room, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a few words spoken by family members and by Dr. Josh Saefkow at 11:30am. Everyone will meet at 1:00pm at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, GA 30269 for a Graveside Service and Burial, with Dr. Josh Saefkow officiating.
