Irene Mary Faust, 87, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her home in The Bridge, an assisted living facility in Orlando, FL.
She was born in Williamsport, PA on September 15, 1930, the daughter of Philip R. and Dorothy E. (Grove) Oechler. She attended Williamsport area public schools and graduated from Williamsport High School in 1948.
In June of 1950 she became engaged to C. Darrell Faust. They were united in marriage on September 16, 1950 at the Central Baptist Church in Williamsport, PA. They lived in Montoursville, PA for 22 years before Sylvania transferred Darrell to Waterloo, NY, where they made their home for 18 years before retiring to Oviedo, FL in June of 1992. Darrell, who survives, remains her devoted husband of 68 years.
Except for the two years in the early 1970s when she served as librarian for the Loyalsock Area Elementary School in Montoursville, she was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, knitting and various crafts.
Irene is survived by her husband Darrell, one son, Charles "Chuck" Faust and his wife Tricia of Melbourne, FL, three daughters, Phyllis McIntyre (Richard) of Zellwood, FL, Pamela Shaw (Steve) of Canandaigua, NY and Patricia Dalton (Tom) of Oriental, NC as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her only brother, Philip, passed away on July 30, 1998.
Funeral services and burial will be held in Montoursville, PA at the convenience of the family.
