Michael was born on February 4, 1963 in Bangor, Maine. Being an Air Force brat, he traveled all over the country with his parents and siblings. He later ended up in Texas at the age of two years old. Michael's childhood was about being in and out of hospitals due to being a diabetic.

Michael was an employee for the State Legislature Council in the print shop. He worked there for almost twenty-five years where he met a lot of co-workers who became his work family and were always looking out for him.
He is survived by his siblings, three brothers, Robert; David and wife, Kay; Steven and wife, Pam; a sister, Nancy and Jim. Nephews, Dustin Rushing and wife Yvonne; Ryan Greenes; Bonner Bankston and Amelia; and nieces, Shayna Carr and Dana Campion and husband James.
Michael has donated his body to research, believing that in some way he will have a part in helping to find a cure for diabetes. "You will always be in our heart and prayers."
