Bob Minervino, 73, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
Born in Newark, NJ he was raised in Hillside, NJ. He was a graduate of Hillside High School and Lincoln Technical Institute. He proudly served his country as a PFC in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He moved to Cleveland, OH and was a branch manager for Cleveland Commercial Plastics for 10 years. Then he returned to NJ and owned his business, Plastic Division M&M in Freehold, before becoming a plastic consultant, all while residing in Lanoka Harbor for the last 36 years.
He was the devoted husband to Sherry for 44 years. His life was happiest when he was with his family. He loved his two sons, Drew (wife Diana) of Orlando, FL and Robert (wife Jennifer) of Stillwater, NJ, and spoke to them daily.
Bob was an avid fisherman and loved to gamble in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He was a lover of all animals, and had a knack with them fostering crows and squirrels before returning them to their habitats. He also coached Lacey Little League for 15 years. He was a passionate baseball fan, and the Yankees were his favorite team.
He was kind, generous and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him including brothers Rocco “Ricky” Minervino (wife Alice), Ronald Minervino (wife Sarah), sister Phyllis Kirk, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in Medford Township, NJ or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A funeral Mass will be at St Mary's Of The Pine On Monday Jan 20,2020 at 11:30AM till 12;30. Cremation was private.
