Evelyn was the oldest of three daughters of Ben and Anna Dirkschneider farmers from Dodge Nebraska.
In August of 1945 Evelyn married Joseph A. Tresnak of Dodge Nebraska and continued living on their farm in Dodge. Besides farming she was a 4H leader for local club and on 4H council for Cuming, County West Point Ne. In 1960 was honored by WOW radio as farm family of the week.
She was a mother to five children Dan, Jane, Ron, Brian and Nancy.
In 1961 the family moved off the farm to Lincoln Nebraska when Joe accepted a position with the Department of Agriculture. Evelyn was a home maker enjoying sewing and gardening and raising 5 children. She and her husband were avid Cornhusker football fans.
In 1969 the family moved to Kansas City Missouri where Evelyn started her away from home work career. She started as a cook at South City View Elementary so she could be off when Brian and Nancy were off or out of school. Later she began working for the U.S. government starting with the IRS the HUD and finally Federal Crop Insurance. She also worked for Jackson County Election Board for over 40 years as at the poles and in voter registration. After retiring from her government work Evelyn began doing volunteering at Baptist Memorial Hospital and continued her passion of gardening and sewing. She made clothes for her children and grand children. She also would make Teddy Bears that she would donate to the local Hospitals, lap blankets that she would donate to the local care facilities and Christening Gowns for her church St Thomas More.
Evelyn was a long time parishioner at St Thomas More and would volunteer for whatever was needed.
Her love for gardening was recognized by her homes association when they presented her with their first Yard of the Month Award.
Evelyn was a long time member of the Baptist Hospital fitness club. She would often be the first one there in the morning and had many friends there.
Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Tresnak, sisters Luella Wallingford, Marilyn Kriz, great-grand daughter Gabriella Krause.
Survived by 5 children Daniel Tresnak and wife Mary of Kerrville TX, Jane Krause and husband Richard Krause of Austin, TX, Ronald Tresnak and wife Sondra of Shell Knob, Missouri, Brian Tresnak and wife Julie of Gladstone, Missouri and Nancy Tresnak of Kansas City, Missouri. 7 grandchildren, Max Tresnak, Thomas Krause, Andrew Krause, Allison White, Jena Bouma, Amanda Hall, Nikolaus Duy and 9 great-grandchildren.
