Christine Mary Rasinski, loving daughter of the late Chester and Leona, nee Krusinski, passed peacefully on January 30th. Chris, as she liked to be known was a Chicago native. She attended Notre Dame High School and upon graduation went on to train as a Medical Assistant. She quickly found employment at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She worked in a variety of clinical and administrative positions within the hospital before eventually becoming the Program Coordinator for Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, a position that she held for more than 25 years. She was held in high regard by the many students, residents and doctors as the “arch support” of the program and helped program maintain its accreditation status as one of the top podiatry training programs in Chicago.
In addition, Chris was a highly organized Department Administrator for the Department of Surgery at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, later Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Surgery and was instrumental in helping to run the department efficiently.
When Chris was not working, she enjoyed cooking, and in particular, baking, with an emphasis on Polish cuisine. Cooking was truly Chris’s passion. She spent many hours planning and preparing meals for family and friends. And at work, many a resident survived a grueling day on the strength of one of Chris’s Chruscikis! No one who knew Chris ever went away hungry.
Chris also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She fashioned many wreaths and other decorations for the home.
She was also a voracious reader, and especially enjoyed mysteries.
Chris will forever be remembered as a loving and generous friend, cousin, and “Auntie” to many.
