Curtis was educated through the Escambia County School System and became employed as a factory and construction worker in his early years.
Curtis lived with his adoring mother, Mattie Brown, for over 50 years of his life. He enjoyed walking, listening to music, spending time with friends and family and enjoying an occasional meal from his favorite restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken.
He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in September 2016 with his mother and niece, Candice. He, however, lived most of his life in Philadelphia, PA, 13 years, Pensacola, FL, 30 years and Clearwater, FL, 8 years.
Curtis had a wonderful sense of humor and was pleasant and kind to others. He was an amazing, son, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Ervin Crosby and his sister, Mary L. Penny.
Curtis leaves to cherish his loving and caring mother, Mattie Brown, his devoted sisters, Ada Wilson (Lansing, MI), Doris Crosby (Jacksonville, FL) and Martha Whiting (Pensacola, FL), one paternal Aunt, Jennie (John) Hardy of Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
