Arthur J. Hope age 86 of Sterling Heights MI, passed away February 10, 2020. Beloved husband of Martha for 38 loving years. Loving father of Sandra Lange, Chris Hope, Janet Hope and John Felice; dear grandfather of Aaron Lange, Robert Trojanowski, Kaitlyn (Jimmie) Moore, Marie Felice and Kelly Felice; proud great grandfather of Natalie and Abigail. His sister Maureen Macintosh, nieces, and nephew Ann, Ruth and Colin survive Art.
Art came to Canada from England at the age of eight with his family. To this day Art has the ticket from his adventure to Canada. He has many fond memories of exploring the ship and well as being hung over the side by his feet by the navel men.
In his younger life, Art was into theater. At the age of 18, he got his first sailboat that would, ultimately becomes his favorite pass time. He loved singing with his barbershop quartet. Art was a man that could fix just about anything. He was always lending a helping hand to those in need. He loved woodworking as well as reading up on history, mystery, how things worked and the National Geographic's. Art had a passion for fixing clocks, watches and cars. He always had a project going, as he could not sit still. When he was not working on something he and Martha enjoyed many vacations to Hawaii.
Art was a family man. Everyone who met him loved him. He had some of the best jokes, especially the one about “Albert at the Zoo”, which was always accompanied by a silly Irish accent. He was an incredibly kind and patient man. He was always doing for others. Art retired after a long fulfilling career as a consultant in the oil lubrication field. Retiring then gave him time to enjoy his family, dine at the best restaurants and take trips with his wife.
Please share a fond memory of Art with his family in his digital guestbook.
