Born in Newton, MA on September 23, 1945, he was the son of the late James & Ruth (Patten) Flynn. David grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton North High School with the class of 1963. After graduation he joined the Massachusetts National Guard and started taking classes at Northeastern University. In 1990 David & Patricia moved to Englewood, FL where they raised their daughter Lindsey. David worked for many years in the maintenance department at the Gasparilla Inn. He was a fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and a die-hard Patriots fan. He was a season ticket holder for 17 years during the bad years, sitting 2 rows in front of Robert Kraft. David enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with his family, going to the beach, collecting sharks’ teeth with is daughter, dinning out with his wife at various restaurants, and watching his favorite TV shows. David was a devoted member and recipient of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Beloved husband of Patricia (Warner) Flynn. Loving father of Lindsey (Flynn) Morris & her husband Kyle of Norwood. Devoted brother of the late James Flynn & his surviving wife Patricia and the late Peter Flynn. He is also survived by several adoring nieces & nephews.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
