WATSON, Arthur M., age 65 of Huber Heights, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother Dee Dee King, daughter Coryln Watson, and grandparents Bill and Helena King. Arthur is survived by his fiancé Carolyn Scott. They had been together for 18 years. He is also survived by his daughters Stephanie Watson and Angela Watson, grandchildren Kyra (James Figueroa) Montes, Chloe Desouza, Isabella Carranza, great-grandsons Bronson Arthur with Jamieson Joe on the way, and cousins Matt (Cheryl) Jackson, John Jackson, Diane (Dave) Adams , Nancy (Ty) Martin, Carolyn (Brian) Johnson. Arthur retired from the United States Marine Corp where he learned to work on airplanes and helicopters. Art won awards keeping airplanes coming and going the fastest ever. He had been stationed in Hawaii, Camp Pendleton in California, South Carolina and Saudi Arabia and retired when he returned home. He loved being a Marine. He worked in aircraft maintenance in California and in Wilmington, Ohio. He enjoyed watching old movies, traveling, collecting trains. His love military planes and helicopters started when was young when he would watch airplanes land and take off with Marcey and Jude. While in the Marines, he was a body builder and had always loved going to the gym and working out. Arthur liked learning the history of the various military bases he visited and shopping on base. Arthur enjoyed attending Spaulding Road Church of God. His favorite car was a corvette. He had a dark gold one. Art was in AA for 28 years, his sponsor was John Floyd. Art was a sponsor to many and loved helping his close friend. Art read his AA book and the Bible every day. Art got his aviation license while in Ohio. It was one of his proudest moments, but his proudest was when his great-grandson Bronson Arthur was born. He was raised in Woodland Hills, CA and spent a lot of time with his cousins, Matt, Carolyn, John, Nancy and Diane. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Spaulding Road Church of God with Pastor Daniel Kroger and Pastor Larry Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of services. Interment in Dayton National Cemetery.
