On Sunday, June 14, 2020, Galen "Jeff" Jefferie Collins passed away at his home in Kansas City, KS at the age of 67. A “drive-up” style visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Come, offer your condolences to Jeff's family and pay your final respects to Jeff while following social distancing guidelines from the safety of your vehicle. Please use the north entrance, following the posted signs. A private family funeral service will be the follow. You are welcome to join us for the graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at approximately 2:30 pm. Because of Jeff’s love for the KC Royals, the family encourages you to wear Royal or blue attire.
Jeff was born on September 18, 1952 in Atchison, Kansas to Donald and Marian Collins. He grew up in Atchison and attended and graduated from Moore Hill High School. After high school, Jeff took some classes at Benedictine College. Starting in October of 1993, Jeff worked for the KCKPS USD 500 as a school bus driver. Jeff was a dedicated worker for 27 years.
He was an avid baseball fan, especially a HUGE KC Royals fan. Jeff was a very talented bowler and a sharp pool player. He also enjoyed reading science fiction books. He was avid collector of music recordings, especially the oldies music. Jeff loved popping him and Cayden some popcorn. In his younger days, Jeff loved to travel. Jeff was a loving and caring man.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Amy Collins; two grandchildren; finance’, Charla Wheeler; sons, Cayden Wheeler, Craig Armstrong, and Corey Armstrong; along with a host of other family members and friends.
