Rilda was the best wife and mother. She enjoyed being with her family, bowling, playing cards, shopping, going out to eat, and traveling. Thought out Rilda's life she was a Sunday school teacher, she enjoyed playing the piano for the church and teaching people how to play the piano. She became the first city secretary of Justin. Rilda became the president of the city secretary Association of Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex twice in her career. Rilda worked with the Perot group to help bring Texas Motor Speedway to Fort Worth, Texas.
Rilda is survived by her husband, Dudley Dodson; daughters; Rilda Ford and husband Alex, Marsha Drewett and husband Jim, Sandra Kiesewetter and husband Bill; son Jack Baxter; brother Weldon Barnard; grandchildren; Thomas Ford, Christy Eckels, Craig Pierce, Richard Webb, Dustin Webb, Jake Baxter, Jessica Baxter, great-grandchildren; Brendan Owen, Joshua Webb, Maddy Eckels, Scott Webb, Will Ford, Lainey Ford, Chloe Webb, Lyla Ford, Brooklyn Webb, Grant Pierce, Athen Baxter, Gracie Pierce, Josephine Baxter, and great-great-grandson Luke Owen.
Rilda was preceded in death by father Ivan Barnard and mother Opal Barnard; brothers; Harold Sanders and Wallace Barnard.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Justin Cemetery, Justin Cemetery Road, Justin, TX 76247. from 9:00 am to 9:30 am.
The graveside service will follow at 10:00 am.
