Richard was born in Mount Kisco, NY, a son of the late Robert Nelson Moore and Eva Mae Butler, and he attended Brewster High School.
Richard worked as an auto technician for most of his career, between shops such as Greentree Toyota, Pamby Motors, and Mark Ford Mercury, and worked for a number of years until retiring as an instructor at Porter & Chester Institute in Stratford CT. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching movies, playing chess, and cheering on the Jets, Knicks, Islanders, and Mets, as well as watching Nascar. He also enjoyed vacationing at Seaside Park, New Jersey and spending time with his family.
Richard was predeceased by his son, Adam Moore, and his brothers, Keith and Robert Moore.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, survivors include his sons, Ryan (Caitlin), Tyler, and Matthew Moore, all of Danbury, CT. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Smalley of Whitefield, NH, and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Resner of Danbury, CT.
Private funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Danbury at the convenience of the family. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be for family only.
