Mary (Caracoglia) Tata, 89, of Hartford and formerly Wethersfield, beloved wife for 47 years of the late Salvatore Tata, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Born in Hartford on May 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lucia (Santangelo) Caracoglia. Mary worked for many years as a paraprofessional for the Hartford Board of Education. She was a co-founder and longtime member of the South End Ladies Democratic Club, and a member of the Floridian Society. Mary had a passion for cooking especially during the holidays and keeping up with family traditions that she passed onto her children and grandchildren. During the days of the family owned coffee shop, Tata's Cafe, customers would come in as strangers but Mary made sure they left as family.
She leaves her beloved children, Angela T. Stearns of Wethersfield and Sebastian A. Tata and wife Maria of Coventry. Mary will also be forever missed by her grandchildren, Matthew Stearns, Anthony and Lydia Tata, a loving and caring sister in law, Tina Patrissi, brother in law Joseph Tata and wife Mary, brother in law Aurielo Tata and wife Mary. Mary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She is now reunited with her five siblings, many family members and friends in the Kingdom of Heaven.
