On Monday December 28, 2020 Iris Adella Samuels nee Wright (Ms Iris, Momsie, Granny) wife of the late Llewellyn (Boysie) Samuels, sister of Fitzroy (Fitzy) and Doris (both deceased), loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, cousin passed away peacefully at home in Montreal, Canada at the age of 97 in the presence of her daughter, son in law and grand daughter by her bedside.
Ms. Iris is survived by her six girls Esmay, Monica, Sadie, Sonia, Lennies and Joan.
Her only son Paul now deceased went ahead of her in April 2020 and also her step son Kevin in May 2019.
Nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, four great great grand children, (too numerous to mention all their names)
Much loved and appreciated sons in law Isaac (Uncle Jack) and Clem.
She is also survived by a host of other relatives, her precious church families in Canada and in Jamaica. As well as many friends who she captured by her infectious smile and gentle and quiet demeanour.
We announced her passing with great sadness but she will forever remain in our hearts.
Resting at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home, 5610 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H4A 1W5. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday January 21, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a second visitation at the church on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 3970 Chemin de la Cote St. Catherine, Montreal, QC, H3T 1E3. Internment follows at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 Blvd des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux, QC, H9B 2A6.
Please note that due to the on-going pandemic, a limit of 25 people are permitted in the funeral home, in the church and in the cemetery.
We thank all the health professionals especially Dr. Dykhuis who worked with her and a special thanks to the Lakeshore General Hospital staff, the CLSC Pierrefonds and the Comfort Keeper Caregivers.
