Jeanne Elizabeth Clark was born to B. M. and Billie Clark on December 17, 1936 in the home of her grandparents L C. and Cora Jarvis in Canton, Texas.
Jeanne grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1955. She was a graduate of Tyler Commercial College and attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Jeanne married Kenneth Ray Shinn in 1954. While living in Canton she worked for General Telephone Company. First as a telephone operator in the days before the town had dial telephones. Later she worked in the business office. She also worked for Hilliard Clinic. Jeanne and her family moved to Bandera Texas in 1972. While living there she was the first director of The Bandera County Helping Hand Center. She was a charter member of Tarpley Baptist Church. Jeanne moved to Gun Barrel City in 1993. Her interest included sewing and needlepoint. She spent many years sewing for the public.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Shinn who passed in 1995; and her son, Michael Shinn in 2017.
Jeanne is survived by her one beloved granddaughter, Sherri Shinn and husband, Christopher Summers; daughter in law, Kerry Shinn; great grandchildren, Evan Summers and River Summers; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the funeral home.
