Shelley was born and raised in St. Paul Park, MN. She graduated from St. Croix Lutheran High School in 1970.
Her one and only child, Becky was born in 1971. Shelley had a natural talent, for dancing. She began when she was three years old with ballet, tap and jazz. She went on to teach at Raddatz Dance Studio as an adult. Many recitals her and her daughter, Becky both participated in over 13 years.
Shelley’s career consisted of 38 years at 3M in the Medical Products Division where she rose to a managerial position from her first job as a secretary. Her hard work and excellent work ethic showed in every aspect of her life.
Shelley felt the need to carry on the “Seidel” duty in the military. She joined the Navy Reserves in 1979 and proudly fulfilled her assignment in 1983.
Formally of Woodbury, MN, Shelley and Dennis moved to Scituate, MA in 1997, and lived there for 5 years before retiring and moving south to Wilmington,NC. Where they have remained for 17 years.
In her spare moments, Shelley volunteered her time and resources making care packages filled with homemade baked goods, hygiene items, books and special inspirational nick-nacks to send to military personnel stationed over seas in active duty. She also spent time taking care of elderly neighbors with cooking meals and baking for them. She enjoyed water color painting and crafts of any kind as well, always creating new and colorful things.
Together with her beloved husband, Denny, they traveled the world. Their favorite being Hawaii, where they renewed their wedding vows on the beach. They shared their love of
golden retriever dogs, having many throughout the years.
If you had asked Shelley what her pride and joy was, she would have said, “my three grandchildren “. They held a special place in her heart, often reminiscing about when they were little. Her eyes would light up.
Shelley is preceded in death by her mother Lorraine, father Leroy, and her dearest brother Wayne Seidel. She is survived by her husband Dennis, and daughter Becky (Nelson) Whitney, her three grandchildren Meighan DuFrane, Frank Austin DuFrane and Jorden DuFrane, her three great granddaughters, Madelyn, Mylah and Marais, her brothers Lee and David Seidel, her step-children, Amy Munoz, Julie Romano and John Meyers, many step- grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her best friend forever Maureen Breheim.
Shelley will be long remembered for her loving and generous heart and soul with a passion for cooking. Always having the big family holiday get togethers. Christmas was always her favorite. She will be missed by so many!
