Sharon Marie Duncan passed away on the afternoon of March 14th, 2024, just 3 weeks shy of her birthday. She would have been 86 years old on April 4th, 2024, having been born in 1938. For the last year and a half, she had been a resident of Orchard Point Memory Care Facility in Port Orchard where they could attend to her needs with advanced symptoms of Alzheimer's.
Sharon was born and raised in Port Angeles, Washington where she also met Llewellyn (Lou) Dubois Duncan and they were married on August 3rd, 1956. With Lou’s occupation in construction and general sense of adventure, the family moved countless times all over Washington State and spent time in Alaska and Hawaii. The family now included son Mark and daughters Shelly and Wendy. Sharon adapted to all this change and bound the family together with her primary role as a homemaker. She later worked in retail, was a Avon lady, an office manager for a construction company and bought and sold mushrooms that resulted in trips to Canada and Japan. Lou and Sharon were married for 38 years until Lou passed away due to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 1994.
Sharon met Ron Schubert on a Caribbean cruise in 1995 and after a couple of years moved to Mooresville on Lake Norman in North Carolina where Ron was living. After 5 years of living in the South, Sharon and Ron decided to move back to the Pacific Northwest and settled in Gig Harbor. Sharon’s family had grown, and she now had 7 grandchildren. Ron passed away in 2011. Sharon spent the rest of her life in the Gig Harbor area. She loved visiting with family and friends and loved to garden. While still in good health, Alzheimer’s was affecting her more and more and after living with Shelly for 2 years she was placed in a memory care facility. The staff called her “Miss Sharon” and asked us if she was always this sweet.
Sharon is survived by (Children) Mark Duncan (Julie), Shelly Kealy (Chris), and Wendy Webster (Jeff). (Grandchildren) Jordan Duncan, Chris Duncan, Brittany Kealy, Erin Kealy, Julie Kealy, Justin Duncan-Webster, and Alexi Webster. (Great-Grandchildren) Adam, Aubrey, Ayla, Jane, Peyton, Embry, Savannah and Fitzgerald.
