Born on July 15, 1931, in Belle Vernon, PA, Martha was the third of ten children and the last of her siblings to pass.
Martha met the love of her life, George Warner, while working at The Dog House drive-in, often fondly recalling that George was a generous tipper. They married on October 27, 1951, in Fayette City, PA, beginning a remarkable 69-year journey together. As an Air Force wife, Martha traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family wherever life took them.
Once her children reached school age, Martha returned to her studies and became a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN). She dedicated over 30 years to nursing, working in various hospital settings, with her longest tenure at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio. Martha took great pride in her career and found deep fulfillment in caring for her patients, earning the respect and gratitude of those whose lives she touched.
Martha’s life was enriched by the many friendships formed within Community of Christ (RLDS) congregations wherever she lived. She generously gave of her time and talents to her local congregations, as a teacher, women’s leader, book steward, Laurel Club volunteer, and cook for Gather-Inn at Stone Church. Martha found joy in baking, painting wood crafts and ceramics, needlepoint, and homemaking. She embraced life with enthusiasm and wonder – so much so that she was still making snow angels well into her ninth decade.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George E. Warner, and her son, Wayne E. Warner, and son-in-law Terry L. Jackson.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Jackson, Carol Roberson (Scott), and Donald Warner (Paige). Martha was a proud grandmother to Sonja Jackson, Shon Jackson, Erin Tucker, Britni Spriggel, Shelby Hoffman, Madison Chuba, Taylor Wintermote, Kennedy Warner, and Grant Warner. She was further blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren.
Martha’s legacy of kindness, hospitality and unwavering faith will be cherished by all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and resilient spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
