Anna Lee Tipps, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026. She was born on March 3, 1934 in Checotah, Oklahoma to a hard-working farming family. At Checotah High School she found her dream sport in girls’ basketball and quickly became the star of the team.
In 1955 she married Jim Tipps and they moved to Pasadena, Texas to start a family. In between raising 3 girls, Anna found time to work as a customer service agent at Southwestern Bell Telephone, staying there until she retired. She loved camping with her family, was very active in church activities and loved playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. Another one of her passions was doting on all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The legacy Anna leaves behind is not fame or fortune. It is in the lives of her husband, her 3 children, her 3 sons-in-law, her 4 grandchildren, and her 3 great grandchildren whom she loved and served so well. We know that we will reunite with her down the road because of God’s great promise! For God so loved the world he gave us his only Son that whoever believed in him would have eternal life. John 3:16
