

Panagiota Karamanos passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 13, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born on March 25, 1937 in Gytheio, Greece; daughter of Marika and Panagiotis Zervobeakos. She married Chris Karamanos in 1961 and immigrated to the United States in the same year.
She was a woman of strong faith and was very active at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She was socially active and enjoyed exercise classes at the Church. Panagiota was an excellent cook. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and sense of humor. Of all of her interests and hobbies, her true love was her family.
Her husband Chris passed away in 2012. She will be deeply missed by her loving children John (Stella), Helen (Ted) Kosturos, and Maria (Earl) Doherty. She was a proud Yia Yia of Paulina (Tarek) Khoury, Christopher Karamanos, Christopher Doherty, Angela (David) Partin, Eleni (Justin) Jerry, Christina and Melina. She adored her great-grandchildren Ilias and Leonidas. She is survived by her siblings Pitsa, Athena, Frideriki, Petros, Antonis, Spiro and Leonidas. She was predeceased by her siblings Stamata and Roubini.
Panagiota will lie instate on Friday, April 17 from 9:30 am until the time of her funeral at 10:00 an at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Rd., St Clair Shores. She will be interred next to her beloved Chris at Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clinton Twp.
