Helen was born October 15, 1922 in Hollister, Idaho. She was the daughter of Marko Pete and Ethel Corak. She was a graduate of Hollister High School and the Albion Normal School where she received her teaching certificate. She taught at Allendale Elementary, Hollister Elementary and a state girl’s reform school in Texas and substituted in the Twin Falls schools. She worked for many years as a housekeeper to earn money for her sons’ education, but her greatest accomplishment was that of mother, grandmother and homemaker. She married Leonard Huddleston on April 8, 1944 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before Leonard passed away.
Helen dedicated her life to hard work and helping others. Her two favorite lifetime mottos were “Good, better, best, never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best” and “Anything worth doing is worth doing well”. She was enamored with diction and poetry and spent many hours with the Word Power section of the Reader’s Digest improving her vocabulary.
