Derrick S. Alire,12 of East Brainerd, died unexpectedly Saturday,July 4, 2009 in atv accident. Alire long resident of the Chattanooga,area, he was a 6th grade student at Ooltewah Middle School and was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Alire. Survivors include his parents, Richard and Ann Alire, maternal grandparents Fred and Roberta Henderson, Hixson, God father and Godmother, Joey and Billie Teems,Chattanooga, several aunts ,uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles,and cousins, unofficial grandparents Jim and Nancy West,Chattanooga.Funeral services will be held at 1p.m.Thursday in the funeral home Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Nicky Harcrow officiating. interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the East Brained Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory&Florist,8214 East Brainerd road, Chattanooga, Tn. Derrick S. Alire was a modest boy, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of “stick to it” attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a boy who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibilit Derrick S. Alire was a modest boy, quiet and observant in his ways. Derrick was born on November 5, 1996 at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga Tennessee. He was the son of Ann and Richard Alire. Derrick grew up in east Brainerd.
As a young boy, Derrick had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Derrick was an active child who took part in outdoor sports he loved 4wheeling. In his spare time he liked to ride his bike and play video games. Derrick's memorable achievements included he could back a 12ft car trailer loaded anywhere you wanted it. However, to Derrick, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
