

Andrea Marie Pritchard Portland, ME – Andrea Marie Pritchard, 33, of Scarborough died unexpectedly on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Maine Medical Center. Andrea was born in Portland, ME in the wee hours of June 28, 1976, the first daughter of James E. & Doreen M. (Robbins) Pritchard. She attended local area schools before graduating from Scarborough High School as a member of the class of 1995. Andrea then went on to earn a degree in computer science from Andover College. After college she worked about four years for Brockway – Smith in Portland as a secretary, then moved on to Southworth International in Falmouth for five years and spent the last two years or so at Uni First in Portland. She recently went back to school taking courses at Seacoast Career Center to become a medical assistant, more specifically a Phlebotomist. Andrea was a diehard Portland Pirates fan. She held season tickets since their inception, was a member of the Booster Club and even traveled with team to Canada and to an All Star Game in Philadelphia. She was also an avid racecar fan, for many years she and her mother worked together during the summer selling tickets at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough. Andrea loved to travel, some of her favorite trips where to New York City, Nova Scotia, Canada or Cancun, Mexico with her family. She was always with her family; she would be the first one at the family gatherings and the last to leave. Her love for children was second only to her family. Andrea loved children, and they loved her back, without exception. Andrea also enjoyed crafting, from scrapbooking to quilts, and whatever project she took on, was perfect when she was done! She also just finished making all the children in the family Christmas stockings. Besides her parents Andrea is survived by her sister Bethany L. Pritchard of Scarborough and her paternal grandmother Charlotte A. Pritchard of Portland. She also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her cat Rusty, named after Rusty Wallace, Toby, her Cocker Spaniel and her “niece” Maddie, Bethany’s Golden retriever, lab mix. She was also the granddaughter of the late Fred E.H. Robbins, who died in 1956, Mildred M. Robbins, who died in 2006 and Donald C. Pritchard Sr., who died in 2000; the god daughter of the late Rev. Eva D. “Cuzzie” Cutler, who died in 2006 and niece of the late Debra L. Poitras, who also died in 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Cheri Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland, ME.
