Stella M. Long

Stella Long, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at her residence.Mrs. Long was born in Hollywood, Alabama to John and Ada York. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and was a member of Lookout Valley Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Long, Sr; son, Ernest Long, Jr; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Grady (Johnnie) Long of Shreveport, LA, Barbara Duke of Chattanooga, Ed (Sandra) Long of Trenton, GA, Dorothy (Talmon) Crane of Lookout Valley, Jimmy (Pam) Long of Lookout Valley, Johnny (Patricia) Long of Rossville, GA, Robert (Laurie) Long of Lookout Valley, and Alvin (Darlene) Long of Wildwood, GA; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Halie Bell Rich of Plano, TX; and many nephews and nieces.Memorial donations may be made to Lookout Valley Church of the Nazarene.Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Monday, December 28th at the funeral home.Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 29th at Lookout Valley Church of the Nazarene (136 Aster Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37419) with Rev. Josh Fite officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service.
