DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Samuel “Sam” Delcambre, 85, at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum. Military honors will be rendered by the Vermilion Honor Guard. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 am until service time.A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Delcambre passed away at 12:10 am Monday, January 04, 2010 at Abbeville General Medical Center.Mr. Delcambre was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and the American Legion. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be missed dearly.He is survived by his children, Sammy Delcambre, Rosslyn Migues, and Sandy Migues and husband Benny all of Delcambre; son-in-law, Rodney Credeur and wife JoAnn of Church Point; grandchildren, Darren Credeur of Duluth, GA, Craig Credeur & wife Heidi of Opelousas, Crystal Castillo and husband Pablo of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Erika Migues Landry & husband Nick of Delcambre, Coy Migues & wife Lacey of Broussard, Jace Migues, Keisha Delcambre DeVille & husband Josh, Tren Delcambre & wife DeLannie & Brittney Migues all of Delcambre; four great grandchildren, Bryce, Cullen, Adelyn and Kirsten; a step great grandchild, Brennan; and his sister, Ethel Louise Delcambre of Dallas.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lailda Primeaux Delcambre; parents, Isadore and Edna Viator Delcambre; his daughter, Phyllis D. Credeur; daughter-in-law, Georgiana V. Delcambre; brothers, Lois Delcambre, Harold “Nook” Delcambre, and Howard “Pim” Delcambre; sisters, Lilly D. Pullin, Verna D. Dubois, and Lou Ella D. Bourque; and a beloved companion, Louella M.
